What is UI design?
The UI design stands for ‘User Interface’ design. The user interface is the graphical layout of the application.
What UI design Creates:
- Combination of typography
- Color palettes
UI design interacts with users by the assistance of buttons to click, text to read, images to indicate, colors impact, etc. Also, it includes screen layouts, transitions, animations, etc. all the visual element is designed in the user interface.
UI design is created by a UI Graphic designer. They develop and decide how the application is going to look like. They have to choose colors, fonts, button size, visual elements width-heights etc. All the responsibilities of an application onto designers to make sure that the application’s interface is effective and impressive at the same time.
UID (UI Designers) Key Responsibilities
- Look and Feel: Branding and Graphic Development, User Guides/Storyline, Customer Analysis, Design Research
- Responsiveness and Interactivity: Adaptation to all device screen Sizes, Interactivity and Animation, Implementation with developers, UI Prototyping, Implementation with Developer
Research of UI
Research is a key factor for both the UI and UX design. It is a necessary and important factor that how the people will face your product with interface and how much time it spends on your application.
UID need to search which type of audience will face the app. Designers Check the visual language they choose fits the class of application. Designers trying to guess the user expectation. If your team’s goal is to design any e-commerce app. Then you have to search how many applications are available in the market? And which of those are worked or not? And if not worked why? Some probabilities are that the users don’t like their interface, fonts, colors, etc. You need to retrieve user expectations. What problems they are facing? Then go to the interface design section.
What is UX Design?
UX stands for ‘User Experience’. UX is about user interaction experience. Is the first experience smooth or not? User experience determined how easy or difficult it is to interact with the user interface elements that the UI designers have created.
What UX design Creates:
- Structural design for interface and functionality
- Solution for pain points that users encounter anywhere along their journey with the product
UX design key responsibilities
- Content/Strategy: Customer Analysis, Competitor analysis, Product Structure/Strategy
- Prototyping and Wireframing: Prototyping, Testing/Iteration, Development, Planning, Wireframing
- Analytics and Execution: Coordination with developers, Coordination with UI designers, Analysis and iteration, Tracking Goals and Integration
So UXD are also concerned with an application’s user interface, and this is why people get confused about the difference between the two. But whereas UI designers take responsibility for how the user interface will look, UX designers are in charge of determining how the user interface operates.
Research of UX design
It has particularly interested in user expectations. All of the experiences that users have faced with every application. If UX designers are not familiar with user’s expectations and what they want? UXD design the best interface for them but is not acceptable as the user’s side. After that users don’t like the interface and this could negatively impact their experience.

Branding and graphic development
Interactivity and animation
Product structure and strategy
Implementation with developers
Co-ordination with UI developers
Still, most of the people are confused about UI and UX differences. Imagine if you play football without the goal-scoring net!!
The question, right?
How you play if you not have a goal to put. That’s like UI without the UX. You can say UI is subset of UX.
Your audience is the backbone of UX. Most research of UX focuses on learning and improving the user experience. Behaviours, functional interactions, and emotional reactions throughout the user journey are the foundation of a company’s UX strategies.
What makes customers shy away from a feature? What difficulties or you can say stopping them from scrolling down a page or navigate to another? Why do they hover over a content section without clicking the CTA button? Should we clone a competitor’s winning feature or create something original? UX strategists are to know customer’s thinking and decision-making abilities with these types of questions.
Whereas UI designers focus on a layout to attract customers and connect them to take desired actions designed by their UX peers. UI designers combine graphic, interaction, visualization, and elements design to produce the best possible layout. Their job is to turn conceptual content and layout into an attractive, intuitive, and responsive interface for users.
UX and UI Complement each other
UX and UI design are completely different. Both can work independently without affecting each other, Both designs serve the best possible user experience. UX defines where an audience wants to go and UI helps them get there.
Both are equally important. No matter how attractive the UI is, without UX, users would find the app or site as useless and customers feel their needs would not be addressed. And without an effective and pleasing UI design, even great UX would become obtuse. UX and UI design are equally part of the making useful and user-friendly app of a website also they are part of the internal mechanism of the back end and the external look of the front end.

To conclusion is that serving the same business goals of UI and UX may require a different approach to the thinking process. UX design is based on an audience’s wants and needs, while UI design is based on the research, recommendations and requirements of a UX designer.
UX designers tend to be strong critical and strategic thinkers, while UI designers specialize in the visual side of things. UX is a science and UI is an art form.
